Plot:

One night dies in a production of King Lear of the main characters on stage. He has been diagnosed with the Georgian flu. Those like wildfire spreads across the American continent and within 2 weeks, most of the human population is deceased. Only a few survive the epidemic. They live from now on as Norman and traveling people. Nevertheless, all of these characters have a connection to Arthur, the actor who died on stage.

Characters: (Spoiler)

Arthur, is an established actor. He plays the role of his life King Lear. But we learn in his review, his life was never easy. He comes from a small island in British Columbia, Canada. From there he was able to bring a lot of great difficulty to Toronto. Here he started against the wishes of his parents at an acting career. At the beginning still quite unsuccessful. There he also met his first wife know Miranda. With her he begins a meteoric rise. However, Miranda does not seem to fit into this life. She is different. Miranda was at the School of Art and draws since a comic. 'Station Eleven'. It is about a superhero of lonely on the seabed lives in a space station and must try to save the world. You leaving but for Elisabeth a student who kennt.Mit her he gets the high-society life a son - Tyler. But she too he leaves for a younger girl. Wife No. 3, the Elizabeth, however, very similar. At long last, however, he meets up with a friend at the theater, the nurse of Kirsten.

The main character in the present is Kirsten. She was a child actress in the production of Lear. As the Georgian flu broke out, she fled with her brother. You can not remember the first year in the new world. She has now joined as an actress of moving symphony.

setting:

The book plays alternately in the past and the present. As 'Turning Point' Here the performance of King Lear is taken. The past focused mainly on the life of Arthur. In the present, Kirsten plays the main role. It is mainly about your travel with the moving symphony through the area now Canada.

Cover:

The cover shows a skyline. On the dark blue solid of pink sky, the title is printed in white.

Conclusion:

Personally, I must say, the writing style was very nice, you could well follow. The story itself was exciting and well thought out. However, what I felt was a significant deficiency was the narrative style. The book constantly alternates between the presence (theater), past (Arthurs life) and future (after the Georgian flu). You never know exactly which part you are and to beginning the parts act on selected randomly. After a few chapters you begin to understand the context. However, further downside is the ever-changing perspectives. Time from the perspective of paramedic, sometimes from the perspective of Arthur, then Miranda, or Kirsten or someone completely different. Somewhere in the last few chapters, it finally begins to make sense of, before or at least I was pretty confused. However, each character is well conceived and demonstrated with many details. I found it interesting that in the end everything comes together at Arthur.
