Ich hatte mir dieses Buch gekauft, da ich ein großer Fan der Original-Reihe bin.
Plot
Seit Harrys finalem Kampf in Hogwarts sind etwa 30 Jahre vergangen. Harry und seine Freunde haben mittlerweile alle selbst Kinder. Und nun ist es so weit, dass besagte Kinder nach Hogwarts aufbrechen. So auch Harrys Sohn Albus und Scorpius Malfoy. Harrys Verhältnis zu seinem Sohn ist stark eingeschränkt und sehr fragil. Albus schafft es in Hogwarts nicht Fuß zu fassen. Als dann der Vater von Cedric Diggory zu Harry kommt und ihn bittet seinen Sohn in der Vergangenheit zu retten, sieht Albus seine Chance es allen zu beweisen, jedoch endet es alles im Chaos.
Charaktere
Albus Serverus Potter ist Harrys jüngster Sohn. Harry und Albus haben ein sehr stark beschädigtes Verhältnis. Als Albus nach Hogwarts kommt wird er wieder allen Erwartungen nach Slytherin gesteckt, des weiteren leidet er sehr unter dem Druck, welchen seine Familiengeschichte ausdrückt. Albus fasst in Hogwarts keinen Fuß, wird Außenseiter und freundet sich letzendlich mit Scorpius Malfoy an. Albus ist impulsiv und lebt hauptsächlich von der Wut und dem Frust gegen seinen Vater. So sieht er in der Rettung Cedrics seine Chance.
Scorpius Malfoy ist Dracos einzigster Sohn. Seine Mutter verstarb sehr früh. Draco ist seinem Sohn gegenüber eher distanziert. So kommt das Gerücht auf, Scorpius sei der Sohn Voldemorts. Er selbst ist sehr schüchternd und vernünftig. Er versucht Albus immer wieder runter zu holen und ihn zur Vernunft zu bringen.

Das Buch spielt in der bereits bekannten Harry Potter Welt. Sie ist lediglich 30 Jahre in der Zukunft gesetzt. Es wird die Geschichte der Originale vorausgesetzt. Jedoch wird mit der Geschichte immer wieder aktiv in die Originalgeschichte eingegriffen.
Schreibstil
Das Buch ist als Theaterstück geschrieben und daher in Dia/Monologform mit Regieanweisungen.
Es baut auf die Originale auf und schließt an das Ende der 'Heiligtümer des Todes an'.
Fazit
Ich hatte mich so auf dieses Buch gefreut, es extra auf deutsch Vorbestellt und naja....
Also zum Lesen, ich fand es am Anfang ein wenig befremdlich, dass es nicht in Prosa sondern in Dialog geschrieben ist. Es ist erstmal ein wenig komisch und ich brauchte ein paar Kapitel bis ich mich daran gewöhnt hatte. Danach war es eigentlich relativ flüssig und schnell zu lesen.
Zur Geschichte... naja ich fand es sehr interessant, dass es direkt an den letzten Teil anschließt und daher einen mehr oder weniger nahtlosen Übergang gab. Jedoch gab es in der Geschichte einige große Lücken, welche ich sehr befremdlich fand. Einen Minuspunkt gibt es jedoch dabei, das die Taten der Vergangenheit und die Gegenwart nicht sehr synchron sind z.B. Löcher in der Decke, welche nicht erst nach 40 Jahren entdeckt werden, oder Personen die zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt eingesetzt haben, erinnern sich an vorhergehendes. Auch sind viele Aspekte gerade in der Charakterisierung ziemlich an den Haaren herbeigezogen, so zum Beispiel das Verhältnis zur Tochter von Ron und Hermine - Rose. Sie hasst Albus wegen seines Hauses, und Scorpius rennt ihr hinterher weil sie schön ist? Das macht für mich wenig Sinn. An manchen Stellen war ich leider der Meinung, viele Originale sind nur verändert um hier eine Art Spannung zu erzeugen, die ich jedoch nicht verstehe. Sie nimmt den Charakteren und der Welt das was sie liebenswürdig macht und so eigenwillig. Der Autor hat hier versucht eine Struktur zu erzwingen, anstatt sich einfach seiner Anzupassen. Er hat sowohl Charaktere ( Ron betrunken an seiner Hochzeit?) als auch Handlungsphasen ( Mary Sue als Tochter Voldemorts und voller Ungereimtheiten in ihrer Geschichte). Als lockere Lektüre für zwischendurch sehr gut zu gebrauchen, aber leider nicht als würdiger Nachfolger für die Harry-Potter-Reihe

Since Harry's final fight in Hogwarts about 30 years have passed. Harry and his friends now all have children themselves. And now it's time for these children to leave for Hogwarts. So also Harry's son Albus and Scorpius Malfoy. Harry's relationship with his son is severely restricted and very fragile. Albus does not get it into Hogwarts. When the father of Cedric Diggory comes to Harry and asks him to save his son in the past, Albus sees his chance to prove it all, but it ends in chaos.
Characters
Albus Serverus Potter is Harry's youngest son. Harry and Albus have a very badly damaged relationship. When Albus arrives at Hogwarts, he is put into Slytherin, and he is still suffering from the pressures of his family history. Albus does not take a foot in Hogwarts, becomes an outsider, and finally befriends Scorpius Malfoy. Albus is impulsive and lives mainly from rage and frustration against his father. So he sees in the salvation Cedrics his chance.
Scorpius Malfoy is Draco's only son. His mother died very early. Draco is rather distant from his son. Thus the rumor arises that Scorpius was the son of Voldemort. He himself is very timid and reasonable. He tries to get Albus down again and bring him to reason.
Setting
The book plays in the already known Harry Potter world. It is only 30 years in the future set. The history of the originals is assumed. However, with the history, the original story is always being actively used.
writing style
The book is written as a play and therefore in slide / monologue with directional instructions.
It builds upon the originals and ends at the end of the 'sanctuaries of death'.
Conclusion
I had so happy on this book, it was specially ordered in German and well ....
So for reading, I found it a little strange at first that it is not written in prose but in dialogue. It's a little funny and I needed a few chapters until I got used to it. After that it was actually relatively fluid and fast to read.
To the story ... well I thought it was very interesting that it connects directly to the last part and therefore gave a more or less seamless transition. However, there were some great gaps in the story which I found very disturbing. There is, however, a negative point in the fact that the deeds of the past and the present are not very synchronous. Holes in the ceiling, which are not discovered only after 40 years, or persons who have used them at a later date, recall previous ones. Also, many aspects of the characterization are pretty much in the hair, for example, the relationship to the daughter of Ron and Hermione Rose. She hates Albus because of his house, and Scorpius runs after her because she is beautiful? This makes little sense to me. In some places I was unfortunately the opinion, many originals are only changed to create here a kind of tension, which I do not understand however. It takes the characters and the world what makes them amiable and so self-willed. The author has tried to force a structure here, instead of just taking care of his own. He has both characters (Ron drunk at his wedding?) As well as action phases (Mary Sue as a daughter of Voldemort and full of inconsistencies in her story). As a casual reading for between to use very well, but unfortunately not as a worthy successor for the Harry Potter series
